Big Award Day

Today we had yearly awards for outstanding job performance.  I was one of the recipients, four all together.

I got a golden heart pin, a bouquet of flowers, a framed certificate and had to improvise a short speech.  At lunch I had chick peas and some beets, with coffee.  I got hungry by the end of day and got myself a soy lasagna with vegetables and rice.  I feel gassy.   Got tired of playing Farmerama.  Will continue X-Men, if I can pass a level I am stuck on.  I don't like the way the games are saved.  Had to go through the same crap time after time.
Tomorrow will be Tuesday, February 29th.  I sent out the rent payment and electric bill.  Received a thank-you note from United Hospital Fund for donation.  Then donated some money to Jewish kids w/disabilities organization.  Then noticed that I need my next check badly or I will not be able to make the rent.  I guess the vacation kicked my budget out of the loop, but it should be restored coming Thursday.   I am starting to feel like I need a vacation.  Good, I booked in advance.  I will chill in two weeks.

back "home"

My parents came back.  I am spending the first night at my apartment.  It's nice to be all alone, finally.  No more dog-walking, no more waking up earlier.
Amtrak tickets were delivered during the time I was out and now I have to reroute them.  I still did not pick up two jackets from cleaners.
There are no changes in mood.  I am stable, satisfied.  Tomorrow I will most likely get an award at work for doing my job.  Finally got a certificate of translation at work.  I have to mail electricity and rent bill tomorrow.

bez lybvi, bez morkovki

The Verizon Tri-Package is fixed and everything is working.  Turned out, as per the technicians, another Verizon tech must have cut the wiring to the parent's apartment when he was installing Verizon package for their neighbors.
Max shitted on the carpet again.  I had to clean it.
I made a decent soup for myself: vegetable soup with dried noodles.  It wasn't awesome, but it wasn't bad not to eat the whole soup.  Tomorrow I will need to pick up jackets from cleaners, see grandmother and walk Max a lot, so he won't shit on the carpet again.  I think I'm going to have another double-tea.
Today I have to stay indoors all the time, because the technician must come to fix Verizon triple-services.  I had boiled elbows macaroni from yesterday, so I fried them in corn oil, put lots of Veggie Slices soy cheddar cheese flakes with few sprays of "I got screwed" (I can't believe it's not butter, in a very convenient spraying container).  Max is getting on my nerves...he needs constant attention...plus I am tired of walking him when it's raining outside few days in a row...So I didn't walk him yesterday night...Now I'm cleaning his shit off the carpet.

No TV - better mental health.

Had a bowl of chick peas for lunch, with a single portion of white rice.  Coffee, a lot.  Red Tea, bottled.  Not eating dinner, just munching on cinnamon raisin sandwich with tofu pups and soy cheese, ate avacado.  No appetite, maybe later.  Sleeping is easier.  Nice numbing grid in the apartment, just sedates you well.  Weather was nice, sunny, evening is cold.  Walked Max.  Laptop has internet connection.  Still playing Startopia.  Again. Another day in paradise.  Today was the last launch of shuttle Discovery.

Don't hate the game, hate the players.

Third day at parents' apartment: Verizon's whole network went down, no TV, no internet, no phone service.  Called - they said the problem is all over the building, technician will fix it without coming into apt.  Came back to find messages: couldn't get in to fix it.  Called back: now it's just my apt - coming on Saturday, because I can't take days off for that.  Luckily, I had a CD of Startopia in my pocket, which I will play for the rest of the week.

nothing new to report to nobody

Two days at parent's apartment.  The suits were not dry cleaned, I will have to pick them up later.  Maybe next weekend.  I feel content, ate less than usual, drank mostly tea instead of coffee.
It's a hassle to walk the dog.  He tends to curl up next to me when I am going to bed even to watch TV...it is uncomfortable...I don't like having living things so close to me.  He is shaking when I leave, he gets attached too much.  He needs constant proximity.  I think he has some mental issues with abandonment.
Ate mostly buckwheat kasha and sandwiches with soy cheese and Tofu Pups.
I think I will have a soup prepared by parents.  Vegetable soup.  Tomorrow is working day.  Today was a holiday.  Hopefully, I'll get some sleep tonight.

After work decided to splurge: went to Telco and bought sneakers and six pairs of warm socks for upcoming vacation.  With a huge canister of roasted peanuts it all came down to less than 30 bucks!  Got a haircut at Katherine's Kids Plus - although mostly for kids, she does adult hair too - right next door.  She somehow manages to make me appear less balding.  Went to King's Buffet and chowed down three plates of food.  Immediately there was a rain with lightning, I got scared and stopped eating.  Actually, I noticed it was raining only after I left King's Buffet.  Next week I will reside at another address due to parent's vacation.  I will have to take care of Max.  He wakes up at 5am and demands to be walked.  Not great it will be...

have to ask about substitution next month...

Some pressure at work.  Not because I didn't do something by the book, but because the occurrence happened two years ago and I simply could not recall all the facts of investigation.  Hopefully, it's nothing.
At lunch I had couscous with dried cranberries and macaroni bow tie salad, with Scandinavian vegetables and coffee.  In the morning it was the usual cinnamon raisin bagel and coffee.  Now I ate a cinnamon raisin bagel with two slices of soy cheese and await the preparation of the home fried potatoes.
I got a reimbursement check at work for stuff I bought for work.  It came faster than usually: have to deposit it so I can buy my Amtrak tickets.

bought a cowshed

Just ate fried eggplant from Met supermarket on a Joe's Bakery semolina bread with Veggie Slices swiss soy cheese, microwaved.  Mmmm.  It was another busy day at work, but I managed to leave almost on time.  For lunch I had a double-portion of vegetarian pilaf,  breadsticks, and coffee, of course.  Still enjoying Seven Stars Japanese cigarettes.  I gotta do laundry soon, it's piling.  Also, it would be a good idea to get hair trimmed this weekend.  Vacation is purchased, just need to buy Amtrak tickets.  I am level 20 in Farmerama.  Still did not spend any cash to get ahead in the game...not planning to so far.

are these south or north Korean broad noodles?

Today was a busy day at work.  I was on my feet the whole time.  Didn't even have the time to check on the news.  I had yellow rice with potato wedges for lunch, with chick peas.  Lots of coffee all day.  After work bought Arizona Green Tea cans, Tropicana cranberry juices and a lottery ticket, for fun.
My Mega Millions numbers are: 22, 23, 24, 43, 55, 56 - quick pick makes it impossible to win even three numbers.  Maybe I should try by hand...
Now I am making Korean broad noodle soup, from a packet.  My head on the left side looks like someone hit it: it's hard to explain to a bloodsucker that the supplies of blood in body is limited; hard to explain to an oil tycoon that his oil well is dry; hard to explain to a thief that you got no money left after being continuously mugged for a long time...  Maybe even impossible, it seems.
I am still playing Farmerama...I found a site on internet, with lots of quick Armor Games, similar - now sometimes I play those...  Area 51 is progressing slowly, I don't feel involved in the game.  That's why I don't buy Mass Effect games: the game is good, but I just don't feel it (based on demos).  People at the Fair Grocery where I was buying drinking fluids were discussing possibility of a nuclear war.  I have a feeling soon many more will start thinking about where this global economy is heading...Scary stuff...I am glad it's not my responsibility to worry about.  Thank God for it!  I am happy to be just silly ol' me, and nothing more.  No responsibilities, just what the MD ordered for the soul.

Eh, peaceful stuff

Today was a physically hard day.  Today is a Valentine's Day Holiday, the holiday of Lovers celebrating Love.  I woke up twice tonight with freezing shaky hands - guess in celebration, the usual blood sucking has increased significantly.  At work it was mostly cannibalistic day: felt chewed and eaten all day more than usual.  I thought: yeap, that's definitely a people's holiday.
Otherwise, it was an unremarkable day.  The Area 51 game is not that exciting.  I am eating vinegret and just finished my fancy dill soup.  It was still very tasty.  Well, life's going on and I am looking forward for tomorrows.

new recipe: Dill Soup

I purchased extra amounts of dill for my grandmother and she asked me to take a full bunch back.  I decided to make my first dill soup with the full bunch:

1) cut dill into 2in pieces, full bunch.
2) add to three 8oz cups of boiling water.
3) add two table spoons of natural mushroom seasoning granule (from Po Lo Ku Trading U.S.A.)
4) add three/four pinches of garlic salt
5) add one table spoon of Vegeta (Podravka).
6) add two tea spoons of margarine.
7) fry young redskin potatoes in virgin olive oil after cutting two potatoes in slices (about 5-6 slices in each) for 4 minutes on each side.
8) lower the heat; add fried two sliced potatoes (in oil) to the soup.
9) add small piece of lemon
10) boil on small fire for about 30 minutes.

The taste is great: I wish I could purchase that in the can, I would eat it frequently.  Maybe I'll make it again some day.  Just in case I will wish to do so, I will leave this recipe online, so I could recall it later.

Installed Area 51: so far still a 3 star game...it's not boring, but not as exciting as the previous one.  And the previous one wasn't as exciting as the one before that one...  Tomorrow is Valentine's Day.  It's still not a national holiday, so I have to go to work.

peace on earth and end to wars

I ordered Chinese food for lunch: sesame seed tofu with bean curd w/vegetables soup.  Ate the tofu at work, now just finished the soup.  There is a warm espresso in whipped creamer next to me and a cigarette - that's nice.  I slept well tonight, even thought yesterday was better.  I noticed that the more I sleep the more weight I lose.  Coincidence, maybe.  Still playing Farmerama, without much enthusiasm; still playing The Godfather II, it's alright.  Just received the rest of 3-star games: Wolverine (X-Men), Area 51, Hitman trilogy.  Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and upgrade them.
The weather is cold.  The snow is almost gone, but it is still hard to find parking.  The mood is calm.  I feel alright with myself.  I doubt I could make better choices in my life and there is not much to regret so far.  I am satisfied with my accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem from an outside view.  It is better to have less but your own, then more but not your own, I think.  Turned out, I don't have much of my own...  But it's ok, at least I got something.  I got me.

another one..shish...

And another day...food, then games...bought myself warm socks and a red woven cap.  Only two choices today, both sucked, but cheap.  I lost my cap, felt out of coat somewhere.  Eating spaghetti now.  Before I booked my vacation, my parents already got their inner tyrants out and fucked my plans.  Now I have to think of some other place except the places they suggested.
Nothing much is happening.  Food shortages all over the world do not limit the amount of pasta I can eat.  Yet.

fancy shoes day

Ate couscous and split pea soup for lunch.  Still not sure what to eat for dinner, no appetite today.  It was cold all day.  I checked various places for vacation spot: currently researching Cape Cod in Rhode Island.  I decided that my Harley Davidson boots are pretty warn: the socks start smelling, the look is scratched, the soles are thinned to the point of having foot pain after prolonged walks.  So, I went to a fancy shoe place right next to me, called Valleverde and bought very nice Italian half-boots for 200+tax bucks.  The shoes were so comfortable I did not want to take them off in the store and walked back to apartment in them.

nowhere to go

Again I tried to choose a place for my March vacation pretty much half of the day and I couldn't come up with any interesting ideas.  Hopefully, I'll think of something soon to save money on booking.
Also, I gotta buy a good plunger for my bathroom.  Really.

Visited Long Island mall with my parents.  I bought 4 shirts in Perry Ellis store.  Checked out shoes in the Rockport - nice shoes - but I did not find the ones I need.  They ran out of boots of my size long before last snowstorm hit.  We ate at an Italian Trattoria restaurant: I had an eggplant hero and coffee.  Before that we went to Starbucks and had more coffee.
After coming to Brooklyn, I stopped by to get some Vietnamese Pho Chai soup and bought some stuff (mostly dry noodles) at a Chinese supermarket. I got a hang of playing The Godfather II and the game is not as boring as it seemed before.  I guess it's a good three-star game.

games are not real life, I was told

Received and currently installing one of the games from the newly ordered old missed games:  The Godfather II. Just came from Stop&Shop: got espresso roast coffee, tofu pups, hard tofu, three large French breads, Veggie Slices swiss cheese made of soy.  Made myself a sandwich with fried tofu, fried tofu pups and soy cheese and it came out very tasty.  Already prepared espresso, will drink it in a while, with some non-dairy creamer.  At work I had roasted potatoes, yellow rice, lots of coffee and cold macaroni bow-tie salad.
My father brought me two buns with cherry and a very good large loaf of bread.  He promised tomorrow to pick up my car while I'll be sleeping and change my oil.  That's very nice of him.  I will visit my grandmother tomorrow instead of Sunday, because the family is planning a half-day trip to the Long Island furthest mall and they want me to come along.  I guess I'll spend the evening playing the computer game.  Radio lately got so dirty that I am thinking of boycotting it like I did with TV.  Need to take a shower after long media exposure.

sort of stability?

During lunch ate a double portion of yellow rice.  Drank a lot of coffee as usual.  After work bought myself bean curd w/broccoli in garlic sauce and bean curd w/vegetables soup.  Ate the first one, left the second one for tomorrow.  Noticed that amazon.com in UK has different games selection, some of which I never saw in US.  Can't buy them now, since my budget for this month for games is kaput: just purchased four so-so games, since there was nothing to play.  Still "playing" Farmerama: it's like a long masturbation with that game...without any orgasms...
The weather was rather cold.  Still hard to find a parking spot, snow is not melting.  Found out that Dunkin Donuts close to me has an ATM machine.  Nothing else new today.  Everything is the same.

another wintry freeze...

Went to the outside-of-work-place fair, parked my car pretty far, then went looking for it twice - got it lost for a while.  It was a draining day, but mostly on the right side, so I went to see Alice.  She told me I have flat feet and need a special kind of shoes.  That's it, I have an excuse in case there is a mandatory draft for war action - I got flat feet.  The streets were frozen today and the ice formed so layered that when I opened my car windows, the ice sheet was untouched, stuck to the car - had to kick it out with windows open.  Kinda new experience.
