Today is Halloween ... or is it Hellowin? either way...

I decided to continue playing Fallout4, as is.
Today I visited my grandmother, went to Mets Supermarket and bought some food/drinks.  As I was going to the pizzeria to get two slices of vegan pizza, with plastic bags, one of the customers said to me that she doesn't have any candy.  There were lots of kids walking on the streets with bags...coming into stores for candy...all dressed up as ghouls, goblins and scary monsters...I guess it's a blow to my ego:)  Or forewarning of crisis in mental healthcare of general population... Either way, my debts are covered and I am on a pay-as-you-go plan.

Life as Somewhat Expected

Well, I am continuing playing Fallout4, but without much enthusiasm.  The bugs are plenty: my computer shuts down every 15 to 45 minutes, some saves take me back to the first scene, with some tribal pack and no discovered map, sometimes I'm stuck between some cargo and boxes and can't move, occasionally I "melt/morph" with my accompanying characters into a one thing, and so on.  Of course, the frequent reboots is the most annoying issue.
Maybe it would be a better strategy to wait for a patch before continuing playing 15 to 20 minute intervals...?
By the way, STEAM updated Mafia II as I noticed... Update was downloaded and installed...did not help a bit, the game is still not playing: not even the titles.  For some reason it shows that I played almost half-an-hour in it...although I don't even know how the opening credits look like.
I guess I will try playing Fallout 4 again, but not today, because it's getting me aggravated instead of entertained.

humanity is pouring into one multicultural stream of... humanity

Playing Fallout New Vegas...so many bugs...had to restart certain missions many times...
The game, as expected, is AWESOME...however, these bugs...make it somewhat annoying at times...
But it's not like it's possible to find anything better at this time, so I guess I'll play slower and wait for a patch.
Visited a new store T.J.Max on Kings Highway and East 15th...VERY nice.  I liked cheap Mexican sweatshirts, but had no reason to buy them...unless I want to wear them inside, but I already have a sports house jacket or two.  Had A LOT of coffee today...going back from work put on some Reggie radio station, turned my heater on - almost felt asleep, found myself moving on a wrong side of one-way street.  Luckily it was quick and nothing happened.  Of course, I had to stop the car, get myself a Dunkin Donut coffee (iced), turn air conditioner on to continue moving.  Saturday I have to be somewhere where I have to be.  I gotta remember it.

Doubtful, yet excited

Well, the moment I've been waiting for has arrived: I received Fallout4:New Vegas.  I was very excited up until I saw the Steam Logo...  My joy has ended: now I have 50/50 chance I will play the game I really wanted to play.  It's downloading now...2 hours left...I will be very upset if it will repeat Mafia II fate.  If it will work, most likely I will spend the whole night on my computer...

That's my Exciting Life...mmmm

It was a calm day at work.  For lunch I had double yellow rice, potato knish, bagel with macaroni, mustard, margerine, tomatoes, lettuce and lots of coffee.  I also drank lime soda, something like Squirt.  I don't recall if I ate anything at home...since I was not doing too well in a computer game and was smoking excessively...
I've been playing Caesar IV all evening..Now I am tired.  I did not accomplish anything - Rome keeps sending their troops to dispose of me as governor.  I think my biggest problem is getting into too much debt...
A sad news - today I found out that Max Payne 3 was postponed AGAIN, till August of 2011.

Sunday, October 17, 2010

I am currently playing Caesar IV.  Started from the very beginning.  I think I started playing a year ago, but another installment of STALKER came in and I did not continue playing it, since it was giving problems to my previous video card anyway.  Now it's good.  Nothing better to do anyway.
Will come see grandmother today, then play Caesar IV till I get bored.  It's easy with that game.  Whatever keeps me sane in this world...

who coughed in my soup?

nothing to play at the moment

Ordered 4 whole wheat sandwiches with avocado, onions, mustard, lettuce and tomatoes and then decided to order a veggie burger with just tomatoes at local deli.  It was very tasty, plus I will have a great breakfast tomorrow.

Still undecided whether to replay Spore or start Borderlands all over, at the higher levels...  or maybe finish Tropico 3?  I will not finish Fear2... not now for sure, maybe later...  It's a long waiting time until FallOut 4...

october blues

Fear 2: not bad game...but not very different from any other shooter.  Played for a day, maybe more, then got bored.  Doubt I can give it more than 3 out of 5 stars.  Checked out online releases of games...nothing good is coming out any time soon, except for the Fallout New Vegas.  Computer game industry seems to hit a crisis point as well...just like other areas of life...Just finding myself going to bed earlier, sleeping more.  I feel very sleepy lately...  I am bored, there is nothing to do with my time.  Accidentally, today noticed that GoAnimate.com got updated significantly, but is it really more than a day of entertainment?  Doubtfully... I see winter in my dreams...  It's very pretty... Maybe I will check the news and go to bed...

waiting for FallOut4....

It turns out that APB game servers closed down soon after I purchased that game on amazon.com, before it arrived.  Although the game was sold at high discount, that was paying for nothing.
Installed The Club: did not expect anything great from it...and did not experience anything great.  It's a plain shooting game for very young gamers.  Maybe good for teenagers....not for older gamers.
Mafia II was "born still".  Not playing at all.  Must be some Steam issues, because system fits parameters.  As I recalled, the original Mafia had too many bugs to be played on my computer as well....weird.
The only unopened game left is Fear 2.  Now I recalled why Fear was so familiar: I played it before, when it just came out...I guess it wasn't such a big deal for me, otherwise I would remember it and not buy it again.  If so, there is no rush to install Fear 2.  Unless it is like FallOut 3 to FallOut2... What is there left?  Only few more missions in Tropico 3... tired of it already, maybe later...  I guess I will play Fear 2 tomorrow...
Took laundry back from the laundromat.  Had a lot of coffee...  visited parents.... tomorrow will see grandmother... or actually today..it's almost 5am...

money lost..it seems...again...

Finished playing Bioshock2.  Beautifully done game, very exciting and unexpectedly thought-provoking, like Prey game.  Tried to play Multiplayer - nobody is on servers...maybe its time is over.  Installed MafiaII.  As soon as I started installing, saw the Steam icon....my heart went down...it's always a 50/50 chance that game won't play or have too many bugs to be enjoyed.   My feelings turned out to be correct:  it's not playing.  I will reinstall, but it didn't help with another game I purchased...so I am not very hopeful...  I already checked validity of files, running updates, fixes, but...
I THINK, AS  A GAMER, GAMES THAT ARE SOLD FOR A STEAM ACCOUNT SHOULD HAVE A WARNING LABEL ON THEM.  How was I supposed to know it was a Steam game?  If I know there is a high chance game won't play, I wouldn't pay as much for it...if the companies would put a label (ONLY ON STEAM) then maybe I would limit my budget on "risking it".  This thought will stay in my head regardless whether Mafia II will play after another reinstall...

BioShocked

This day I finished playing Bioshock 2 before 2am.  I am going to bed now.  I wouldn't have the will to stop playing if the game wouldn't collapsed after a bug.  Unfortunatelly, second version has more bugs then the first one, especially when picking up stuff from vending machines.  What a wonderful surprise these Bioshocks were: I did not expect this game series to be so well-thought and well-designed.  Even though I am still somewhere in the middle of game, I already want a sequel.
P.S. Today we ordered Thai food at work.  I recalled why I don't usually go to Thai restaurants: sweet rice noodles and super-spicy soups?  Nah.

I'm just chilling, with no feeling, slowly peeling as I'm wheeling...

Slow day at work...it was busier in the morning hours...First day with the sunshine after 6 days of rainy weather.  Yesterday I ordered the whole large vegan pizza...today I had split pea soup, boiled cauliflower, couscous and the usual Maki rolls (rice crackers in seaweed wrapper) with coffee.  Lots of coffee today.  I thought about something and I am getting a new attitude towards life... feels like I am getting old...just want to be alone and play computer games...and enjoy the food...in rational amounts, of course.

Smoking Gauloises Brunes

Busy day at work, but almost no drainage, so I did not get tired and was able to play games right after work. Played Warcraft III for few hours in a row until I got bored.  Today I received Bioshock2 and MafiaII, so I decided to take a break from Warcraft III and play Bioshock2.  It's still installing...it's been more than half-an-hour...  At work I ate boiled potatoes, broccoli and some pasta.  After coming home I had three packages of barley kasha with soy sauce, herbs, garlic salt and regular salt.  I thought it would fill me, but I was slightly hungry even after that...so I ate fried tofu.
The weather is amazing: it's been raining for five days, with very occasional sun showing.  Sometimes I doubt that winter will come, but it is noticeable that the weather is getting colder.  For example, I don't need to use air conditioning unit during evening anymore.  I sit at computer warmly dressed. I don't use the ventilator.  Clearly, it's not summer anymore.

Consecutive good night of sleeping!

So, the World of Warcraft, just as suspected, turned out to be a horrible children's game that I couldn't play for more than few hours.  However, same company Blizzard's game WarCraft III is now installed and I played it for two days.  It's ok.  The main character, so far, is a white blond prince (well, that is standard in games) that betrays his kingdom and kills his unsuspecting father The King, joining the forces of Undead after fighting with them, to have more power.  He hires mercs to help him with battle, than burns his ships to make sure the soldiers are not able to escape and are forced to fight his enemies, then blames the mercs for burning the ships and slays them with the angry soldiers, who think that mercs did it without his orders.  Not the usual noble character.  When you click on him to move him, he calls you a fool.  I am half through the game...wonder if he will drop his super special sword that doesn't really change much in the game and becomes "good" again.  But - it's a city/camp building elements game and that's what is great about it.  I love city-building games, with upgrades, etc.

By the way I couldn't wait and pre-purchased Fallout4: New Vegas.
The Bioshock 2 was also ordered and will come to me shortly.
